Rafting the Middle Fork of the Salmon

Frank Church Wilderness, Idaho

A 7 Day Rafting Trip Down the Middle Fork of Idaho's Salmon River

Start Date

May 1, 2018

End Date

May 7, 2018

Running 104 miles through one of America's most beautiful and isolated national wildernesses, the Middle Fork of the Salmon is a gem of a  adventure. It's widely regarded as one of the most epic sections of whitewater in the United States, with Class III to IV+ rapids.

The Middle Fork of the Salmon is also famous for more than half a dozen hot springs, ranging from "just right" to "wow, that's hot". The perfect way to end a long day on the river.

This was an adventurous trip. Whitewater experience was not required, but members were all at least intermediate swimmers and in good overall physical condition. Our boats were captained by experienced river boatsmen and women, and all members were welcome to row through calm sections and rapids alike.

Late May was the start of the season for the Middle Fork, and temperatures ranged from 70 degrees during the day to the low 40s at night.

all inclusive of transportation to the river, boats, gear including wetsuits, permits, food, roundtrip transportation from Boise, ID to river put-in and take-out, including flights (if necessary due to high water).

Cost does not include: camping equipment rental, alcohol (BYOB), meals off the river
